On Time 準時 vs In Time 及早/及時
The meeting was scheduled for 11 a.m. 會議定於上午11點舉行。
I arrived in time. 我及時趕到。
The meeting started on time. 會議準時開始。
In Time 及早/及時
• before something happens 趕在某事發生之前
I got home just in time – it’s starting to rain. 我正好及時趕到家 – 隨後就開始下雨了。
• before the scheduled time 在預定時間之前
She didn’t finish it in time. 她沒有（預定的時間之前）及時完成。
• With time to spare 有富餘時間
I arrived in time to have some coffee before the meeting started. 我及早到了，在會議之前喝了些咖啡。
On Time 準時
• punctual / on schedule / at the arranged time / at the correct time 準時/在預定的時間/在正確的時間
Mary always arrives late to work. She is never on time. 瑪麗上班總是遲到，她從不準時。
She always pays her bills on time. 她總是按時付賬單。
The train pulled in exactly on time. 火車準點到站。
